
The educational aims of Georgia CORE are many including:
Increasing the skills and competencies of the cancer research workforce; Raising
public awareness about the opportunities and benefits of clinical trials;
Incorporating the perspectives of patients and survivors into clinical cancer
research; Advocating for clinical trials financing, regulatory improvement and
resource development; Promoting access to and enrollment in clinical trials;
Stimulating dialogue and collaboration among multi-disciplinary cancer
researchers.
In 2008 Georgia CORE offered the following educational
programs:
Principal Investigator’s Training program co-sponsored by GASCO;
Clinical Research Education co-sponsored by GASCO
Breast cancer and lung cancer working groups for Investigators
Board and staff made presentations to numerous professional meetings including:
Emory /Winship Cancer Institute Poster Presentation at the San Antonio Breast Cancer
